Recent Updates
- Added 6 tiers (Normal with plain materials), required mastery and craft EXP per tier, new thresholds, catalysts dropping from creatures, Britain/Moonglow stations, smelting details and the new Alchemy potion recipes.
Most weapons, armor sets, tools and equipment in MyShard are made by players. You can craft your own gear from the materials you gather, or sell what you make to other players. There are four crafting professions, each its own mastery.
Professions
| Profession | Where | What it makes |
|---|---|---|
| Blacksmithing | Blacksmith Station | Long Spear, Dagger, Maul, Halberd, Daisho, Platemail Armor, jewelry (Gather Ring, Gather Earring, Gather Necklace) |
| Tailoring | Tailor | Cloth Armor, Exp Boot, Armor Robe, Damage Shroud, Gather Tunic, potions (Alchemy) |
| Leatherworking | Leather Tool | Leather Armor, Spellbook, Monster Damage Talisman, Monster Defense Talisman, Gather Shoe, Gather Head |
| Carpentry | Carpentry Toolkit | Wild Staff, Heavy Crossbow, Gather Tool, Hits Talisman, Luck Talisman |
Materials come from gathering: Ingot, Log, Cotton and Hide. See Gathering.
Crafting stations: in Britain's crafting quarter east of the bank (Blacksmith Station, forge, anvil, Tailor, Leather and Carpentry stations) and in Moonglow (Blacksmith Station, forge, Tailor, Leather, Carpentry).
How to craft
- Double-click your profession's station or tool to open the crafting menu. You can also open it with the arrow on the Professions tab of the Mastery Book, but a suitable station must still be within 5 tiles to craft.
- Pick a category from the list on the left (e.g. Daisho or Full Platemail).
- In tiered categories, items are shown in a table: rows are tiers (Normal – Epic), columns are levels (I – V). The Normal row has a single item with no level. Hover over an item to see its properties.
- Click the item. The side panel shows the materials needed: green if you have enough, red if not.
- Press the craft button. Crafting takes 3 seconds and the item goes to your backpack.
- Each press crafts one item.
- Crafting always succeeds; no materials are lost.
- Entering war mode or taking damage cancels it.
Tier and level
Every crafted item has a tier and a level:
- Tier (Normal – Epic): to craft an item of a tier, your mastery in that profession must have reached the same tier: Normal 1, Ruin 2, Might 3, Force 4, Power 5, Epic 6. A Force item needs Force (4) mastery, for example. Normal items are open to everyone. Otherwise you'll see "Your Blacksmith mastery must be Force to craft this item."
- Level (I – V, Ruin – Epic): set by the level of the materials you use. A level III item needs level III materials. Higher level materials come from higher level resources. Normal items use plain materials (Iron Ingot, Log, Cotton, Hide).
Most Ruin – Epic weapons and sets also need a tier-specific catalyst on top of the materials (e.g. Might Platemail Mastery Book, Force Spear Crystal). It's consumed when crafting. Catalysts drop from creatures of that tier: Ruin 3%, Might 2.5%, Force 2%, Power 1.5%, Epic 1%; bosses always drop one. See Special Items.
What does level change?
| Level | I | II | III | IV | V |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Armor on armor sets | +0 | +5 | +10 | +15 | +20 |
| Hits Bonus on armor sets | 0% | 5% | 11% | 16% | 21% |
| Daisho, Halberd, Dagger, Wild Staff ability power | 0% | 10% | 20% | 30% | 40% |
| Long Spear, Maul, Heavy Crossbow, Spellbook ability power | 0% | 5% | 10% | 15% | 20% |
Item properties are fixed; two items of the same tier and level are identical.
Example recipes

|---|---|

You can see every current recipe in the crafting menu. Crafting gathering equipment (Gather Ring, Gather Tunic etc.) needs Power (5) mastery in the profession.
Alchemy
In the Alchemy category of the Tailoring menu you brew potions from the flowers you grow on your island. Every potion needs an Empty Bottle plus flowers; potions have no tier or level. Greater potions need Might (3) Tailoring mastery, the rest are open to everyone. Brewing a potion gives Normal tier experience and Craft Points. For flowers see Island and Farming.

Smelting
You can smelt leveled weapons and Platemail sets at a forge: double-click the forge and pick the item in your backpack. One third of each of the item's materials (rounded down) comes back to your backpack; single catalysts are not returned. Smelt items you don't use to recover materials.
Crafting mastery
- Every item you craft gives 30 / 60 / 120 / 220 / 360 / 520 experience depending on its tier (Normal – Epic). Resources you gather also give the related profession 25% of the gathering experience.
- Leveling up takes 1,200 / 3,600 / 10,800 / 30,800 / 72,000 experience (Normal → Ruin … Power → Epic).
- Every craft gives 106 (Normal) to 1,495 (Epic) Craft Points depending on tier; shown on your profile.
- Crafting weapons and sets advances the Crafting category of Achievements.
More in Levels and Experience.
Equipment that helps crafting
- Gather Earring: 50% more crafting experience.
- Gather Necklace: 25% fewer materials when crafting.
Both are added to the Gathering Equipment window and use 1 charge per craft. See Gathering.
Tips
- Crafting your own weapon and set is the cheapest way to keep your gear up to date as your mastery grows.
- Save high level materials; a level V set is noticeably stronger than a level I one.
- Check the materials in the side panel before crafting; red ones are missing.
