Game Interface
The skill bar, notifications, character info and MyShard's own interface elements.

Recent Updates
- Added the Start Area tutorial window; gathering dots now described as the sub-level (I–V) of Ruin and higher nodes, Normal nodes have none.
MyShard comes with its own client; most of the bars, windows and indicators on your screen were designed for this game. This page introduces everything you see on screen and what it does.
Character display
The display at the top left of your screen is your character:
- Health and mana bars, with current values on them
- Your portrait and name
- Armor, gold and weight
- A party invite button; right-click to leave the party
From its settings menu you can change your portrait, lock the display, show only the bars or switch to a smaller mode.
Target frame
When you select a target, a target frame opens next to your character display. Its look tells you the target type: enemy player, friendly player, monster or NPC. You see the target's real health, and its mana if it's a player.
Right-click the frame for actions on the target: stats, add to guild or party, trade, duel, whisper and mute.
The bars above your selected target's head are drawn bigger and glowing, so you never lose your target in a crowd.
Skill bar
The skill bar is the heart of combat: Q, W, E hold your weapon abilities, R, D, F your armor abilities, and 1, 2, 3 are slots for food and potions. Cooldowns, mana and charge show on the icons. More in Skill Bar.
Buff and debuff bar
Effects are shown in two rows: your own effects on top and your selected target's effects right below.
- A green frame is a buff, a red frame is a debuff.
- Each icon counts down its remaining time.
- Hover over an icon to see the effect's name, stack count, who applied it and the time left.
- A new effect's icon rises from your character's head when it's applied.
When you enter combat you'll see a debuff called Combat Time. Until it runs out, some actions (like changing abilities or using a Moongate) are not allowed. All effects: Buffs and Debuffs.
Cast bars
- Your cast bar: shows the name and remaining time of the ability you're casting. You can move it.
- Enemy cast bars: see what your opponent is preparing; shown in the world, under the target frame, or both.
Damage and healing numbers
Damage you deal and take bursts off the target as numbers; heals appear in green with a +. Lost health lingers on the health bar as a trail before shrinking away, so you can see at a glance how hard you were hit.
Notifications
Events such as achievements, quests, guild, party, crafting and war arrive as notifications. If you're in game, a NEW NOTIFICATION box appears on the left of the screen for a few seconds; click it to open the notifications window.
- Notifications are sorted into categories; unread ones are shown in blue.
- Delete them one by one, per tab or all at once.
- When you log in, you're reminded of any unread notifications.
Tutorial window
While new characters are in the Start Area tutorial, a tutorial window on the left of the screen shows the next step, what to do and the progress (e.g. 4 / 10). It closes when the tutorial is finished or skipped. More in First Steps.
Top bar
The bar at the top of the screen opens common windows with one click:
- Options, character window, journal and world map
- Experience: the Mastery Book (Levels and Experience)
- Char Profile: your character profile (Profile and Inspect)
- Mount Skins: mount costumes (Mounts and Costumes)
- Party management, death logs and the mute list
Indicators in the world
- Gathering level dots: the 5 dots under Ruin and higher tier Rock, Cotton and Hides nodes show the node's sub-level (●●●○○ = III). Normal nodes have no sub-level. See Gathering.
- City banner: the city's name appears when you enter a city.
- Range warning: if your selected target is out of an ability's range, a red warning appears below your character.
