What is MyShard?

MyShard is a free Ultima Online shard that keeps the classic world and freedom of UO but rewrites the heart of the game. Britannia is still the place you know: the same cities, the same roads, the same sense of adventure. What changes is how you fight, how you grow and how you compete with other players in that world.

Our goal is simple: give long-time UO players something new to be excited about, and give newcomers an easy way in.

Why MyShard?

• A brand-new combat system: instead of the classic "attack and wait", active abilities that change with the weapon in your hand.
• Fair play: nothing that affects combat balance is sold in the store. Power is earned in game.
• Our own client: a MyShard client and launcher; the skill bar, notifications and interface were designed together with the game.
• Living competition: monthly seasons, ranked matches, tournaments and achievements that reset every month.
• Turkish and English community: the game, the website and this guide in both languages.

Combat: your weapon is your play style

In MyShard, the weapon you wield decides what you can do. Every weapon has its own ability set; abilities sit in slots such as Q and W, and each has a mana cost, range, cooldown and cast time.

• Melee: Daisho, Dagger, Long Spear, Halberd, Maul
• Ranged and magic: Heavy Crossbow, Spellbook, Wild Staff

Next to weapon abilities come the charge-based Aweakings and buffs and debuffs that turn a fight around. Your armor group (Platemail, Leather or Cloth) shapes your role in battle too.

Grow your character

• Levels and experience: you grow stronger by mastering your weapon, armor and professions through six tiers, from Normal to Epic.
• Achievements reset every month and reward you as you complete them.
• The profile and inspect screens show your progress and other players' gear.

Economy and professions

Fighting is not the only way. MyShard's economy is in the players' hands:

• Gathering: tiered gathering tools take you step by step to more valuable resources.
• Crafting: Blacksmithing, Tailoring, Leatherworking and Carpentry; your specialisation grows as you master them.
• Fishing, farming and animals on your own island, and treasure chests dug up with a shovel.

Competition and events

• Arena: matches from 1v1 to 5v5, ranked games and rooms with stakes.
• Tournaments and monthly seasons: a new race to the top of your category every month.
• Bomberman: a completely different, fun fight inside the game.
• Solo Dungeon: the dungeon where you are tested alone.

Stronger together

The guild system is more than a name tag: guild levels, daily goals, special rewards, alliances and guild wars let you grow together with your community.

Where should I start?

1. Create your account and install the launcher.
2. Your new character starts in the Start Area tutorial; plan the tutorial and your first hours with First Steps.
3. Learn how abilities work in Combat Basics.
