  1. 6 tiers (Normal–Epic): ability values updated, tiers/mastery section and Normal Long Spear recipe added. Spear Shot per-stack tier values added.

The Long Spear keeps opponents at a distance and doesn't let them escape. Its abilities slow, pin and unbalance; in the Spirit Spear stance you build Piercing Spirit stacks and turn them into one powerful thrust.

The Long Spear's abilities are on the cards at the end of the page; hover over one to see its description, mana, range and times. Pick one from each row with Weapon Aweakings.

Ability damage and healing grow with your weapon's tier; the cards list all 6 tiers in order: Normal / Ruin / Might / Force / Power / Epic.

Tiers and mastery

  • The Long Spear comes in 6 tiers: Normal, Ruin, Might, Force, Power, Epic. Normal has no sub-levels; every tier from Ruin to Epic has sub-levels I–V, which raise ability values by +0% / +10% / +20% / +30% / +40%.
  • Your Long Spear mastery grows with the experience you earn while wielding it, from level 1 (Normal) to 6 (Epic). A Normal Long Spear needs no mastery; equipping Ruin needs level 2, Might 3, Force 4, Power 5 and Epic 6.
  • Experience needed for the next level: 5,000 / 22,000 / 68,000 / 185,000 / 500,000.
  • Normal Long Spear recipe (Blacksmithing): 16 Iron Ingot + 8 Log. Higher tiers need 32 Ingots + 16 Logs of that tier (e.g. Ruin Ingot, Ruin Log) plus 1 Spear Crystal, and your Blacksmithing mastery must have reached that tier. Catalysts drop from creatures of that tier.
  • New characters can pick a Normal weapon from the New Player Gift at the start.

Spirit Spear and Piercing Spirit

  • Spirit Spear is a 16-second battle stance. You gain a Piercing Spirit stack when you activate it and every 5 seconds.
  • During the stance, Spear Head and Parry also grant stacks; up to 3 stacks.
  • Each stack increases your normal attack range by 1 tile and your damage by 5%.
  • Spear Shot consumes every stack for an execution thrust that grows with your stacks.

Combos

  • Catch and finish: activate Spirit Spear → break their speed with Legs Break → gather stacks with Spear Head → stun with Spear Shot.
  • Group control: pin and slow a group with Far Near; keep up normal attacks with your extended range.
  • Defense: meet incoming damage with Parry; with Spirit Spear active you gain a stack on top.

Tips

  • Activate Spirit Spear right before a fight; spend all 16 seconds gathering stacks.
  • Far Near has a 0.8 second cast; moving cancels it.
  • Legs Break shatters your opponent's speed buffs; save it for targets that run.
