Account and Setup

Getting started with MyShard takes three steps: create your account, install the launcher, log in. The account you create on the website is also your game account; you don't need a separate one.

1. Create an account

1. Open the Register page.
2. Fill in the form; each field shows its rules.
3. Complete the robot check and press Register.
4. Click the verification link in the e-mail we send you. Your account is only activated after this step.

If the verification e-mail doesn't arrive, check your spam / junk folder first. If it isn't there either, resend the verification e-mail.

2. Website account = game account

• You log in to the website with your e-mail and password, and to the game with your username and password.
• When you change your password on the website, your game password changes too.
• Accounts without a verified e-mail cannot log in to the game.

3. Download and install the launcher

MyShard is played with its own client. The launcher downloads the game files, updates them every time it starts and connects you straight to the server; no copying files or changing settings by hand.

System requirements

• Operating system: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
• Internet: a stable connection (files are downloaded on first install)
• Account: a MyShard account with a verified e-mail

Installation

1. Download the launcher from the download page. If the link isn't live yet, it will be there very soon; follow Discord for announcements.
2. Run the downloaded file. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info → Run anyway.
3. The launcher downloads and installs the files it needs. The first install can take a few minutes depending on your connection; later starts only download updates.

4. Log in

1. Start the game from the launcher.
2. Log in with your website username and password.
3. Create your character. Whichever city you pick, your new character starts in the Start Area tutorial and graduates from there to Britain. For the tutorial and your first hours, read First Steps.

Managing your account

• On the My Account page you can see your account details and change your password and PIN.
• Forgot your password? Request a reset link by e-mail on the Forgot Password page.

Account security

• Never share your password or PIN. Anyone asking for them in game or on Discord is trying to scam you.
• Don't reuse a password you use on other sites.
• Keep your e-mail account safe too; password reset links are sent there.

Troubleshooting
