  1. 6 tiers (Normal–Epic): ability values updated, tiers/mastery section and Normal Halberd recipe added. Furious Reap slow corrected to 2.5 s.

The Halberd is heavy and slow but has the highest normal attack damage of any melee weapon. It bleeds opponents with Blood Wound, reduces their healing and stuns them. It's one of the most effective weapons against opponents who rely on healing.

The Halberd's abilities are on the cards at the end of the page; hover over one to see its description, mana, range and times. Pick one from each row with Weapon Aweakings.

Ability damage and healing grow with your weapon's tier; the cards list all 6 tiers in order: Normal / Ruin / Might / Force / Power / Epic.

Tiers and mastery

  • The Halberd comes in 6 tiers: Normal, Ruin, Might, Force, Power, Epic. Normal has no sub-levels; every tier from Ruin to Epic has sub-levels I–V, which raise ability values by +0% / +10% / +20% / +30% / +40%.
  • Your Halberd mastery grows with the experience you earn while wielding it, from level 1 (Normal) to 6 (Epic). A Normal Halberd needs no mastery; equipping Ruin needs level 2, Might 3, Force 4, Power 5 and Epic 6.
  • Experience needed for the next level: 5,000 / 22,000 / 68,000 / 185,000 / 500,000.
  • Normal Halberd recipe (Blacksmithing): 16 Iron Ingot + 8 Log. Higher tiers need 32 Ingots + 16 Logs of that tier (e.g. Ruin Ingot, Ruin Log) plus 1 Halberd Mastery Book, and your Blacksmithing mastery must have reached that tier. Catalysts drop from creatures of that tier.
  • New characters can pick a Normal weapon from the New Player Gift at the start.

Blood Wound

  • Blood Strike, Bitter Anger and Infernal Strike open a 6-second Blood Wound on the target.
  • Blood Wound deals true damage every second and stacks up to 3 times.
  • At 3 stacks, the target's healing received is reduced by 12%.

Combos

  • Bleed and crush: open 3 Blood Wound stacks with Blood Strike → stun and shred armor with Stun Blades → finish with Infernal Strike.
  • Crowds: bleed everyone with Bitter Anger → activate Adrenaline Rush → spin through them with Axe Cycle.
  • Heavy hit: empower your normal attack with Furious Reap; combined with the Halberd's high normal damage it hits very hard.

Tips

  • Blood Wound is true damage and ignores armor; fill the stacks first against tough targets.
  • You can move during Axe Cycle but can't use other abilities; activate your buffs first.
  • Against healers, Infernal Strike plus 3 Blood Wound stacks cut their healing significantly.
