Bomberman rooms, power-ups, credits and ranked matches.

On This Page

Bomberman is one of MyShard's non-combat pastimes. On a map full of crates you drop bombs, blow up crates, collect power-ups and trap your opponents between explosions. The last player standing wins. Normal matches are for fun; ranked matches earn Bomberman credits and ranking points.

How to start

  1. Double-click the Bomberman Stone in the Bomberman lobby. The list of open rooms appears.
  2. Join a room or create a new one.
  3. When the room's seats are full, the match begins and players are moved to their starting points on the map.

Rooms

SettingOptions
MapSmall (2 or 4 players) or Large (4 or 8 players)
Match typeNormal or Ranked
PasswordOptional; only those who know it can enter a password-protected room.
  • If the map is busy, the room queues and the match starts when the map is free.
  • The room owner can close the room or remove a player.

Gameplay

  • Use the bomb key to drop a bomb where you stand. It explodes after a short time and the blast spreads in four directions.
  • Explosions break crates and knock out any player caught in them.
  • The number of bombs you can have out at once and the time between bombs are limited.
  • The last player alive wins the match.

Power-ups

Crates broken by bombs sometimes drop a Power UP. Step on it to get a random effect; a Power UP disappears after 30 seconds.

EffectWhat it does
(+1) BombYou can have one more bomb out at once.
(+1) Bomb KaroThe blast reaches 1 tile further.
(+3) Bomb CooldownShorter wait between bombs.
(+1) DetonatorYou gain a detonator charge.

Careful: about one in five Power UPs is a nasty surprise. It can lower your bomb count, range or cooldown, slow you down, or add new crates to the map.

Ranked matches and credits

  • You need at least 50 Bomberman credits to take a seat in a ranked room.
  • Credits are bought from the Bomberman Stone menu: 50 credits = 5,000 gold.
  • The losing player loses 50 credits; the winner earns credits and their ranking points go up.
  • Every player starts at 100 points. Wins and losses change your points; the ranking is shown in the Bomberman menu.
  • Normal rooms need no credits and don't affect the ranking.

Tips

  • Plan your escape route before dropping a bomb; your own bomb can knock you out too.
  • Use several bombs together to trap an opponent in a corner.
  • Don't rush every Power UP; the nasty surprises can turn the game.
