Mounts and Costumes
Mounts and the mount costume collection.

In MyShard your mount stays in your backpack as a mount figurine; one key summons it and one key dismounts. Its look comes from your mount costume collection: you can dress your mount in any costume and colour you've collected.
Summoning and dismounting
- Have a mount figurine in your backpack.
- Press B. Summoning takes a moment, and you mount when the progress bar fills.
- Press B again to dismount; the mount returns to your backpack as a figurine.
- Moving while summoning cancels it.
- You can't summon a mount during combat (while Combat Time is active).
- A mount figurine binds to you on first use; nobody else can use it.
- If you have a guild mount in your backpack, it's summoned first.
While mounted
- You can't attack. Dismount to fight.
- Your mount takes the damage you'd take. It has its own health; your mount's health window appears on screen.
- If your mount's health runs out, you're thrown off and the mount returns to your backpack as a figurine; it isn't lost.
- You dismount when you die.
- You can't gather, fish or harvest while mounted.
Mounts in dungeons
- Some dungeons don't allow mounts.
- In these dungeons the B key starts leaving the dungeon instead. After a short preparation you're teleported to the dungeon entrance; moving or entering war mode cancels it.
- You can't leave a dungeon this way during combat.
Mount costumes
The Mount Skins button on the top bar opens your costume collection. The costume and colour you pick show on your mount the next time you summon it. Costumes only change the look.

Every costume comes in different colours; each colour of a costume has its own place in your collection. The window shows how many costumes you have in each category.
How to earn costumes
- Starting out: every new character starts with two horse costumes.
- Island: mount animals you raise on your island give costumes; the pub's colour becomes the costume's colour. Double-click the costume item to add it to your collection in that colour. See Island and Farm.
- Guild season: every member of the guild that finishes the monthly guild season first earns the Armor Steed costume. See Guild System.
You can't add a costume and colour you already have.
Tips
- A mount is like a second health bar while travelling; ride through dangerous areas and dismount when you're going to fight.
- Don't plan on mounting up to escape a fight; mounts can't be summoned while Combat Time is active.
- Grow your collection by raising rare-coloured pubs on your island.
