Fishing is MyShard's calmest profession: cast your line into the water, wait, and the fish come to your backpack on their own. You can chase rare fish and try to make it to the top of the Fisher Story rankings.
How to fish
- Equip a Fishing Pole.
- Double-click the pole and target a water tile within 5 tiles.
- Your character casts the line and starts waiting. You catch something about every 22 seconds; it goes straight to your backpack.
- Fishing keeps going on its own until you stop.
Fishing ends when you:
- Move.
- Enter war mode
- Unequip the pole
- Reach your weight limit.
- Mount up; you can't fish while mounted.
The fishing pole
- Every pole has 200 uses of durability; each catch uses 1. The durability left is shown in the pole's tooltip.
- When durability runs out, the pole breaks.

Rare fish and collectibles are worth far more than common fish.
Selling fish
You can sell your fish and collectibles to a Merchant NPC (in Britain, Moonglow, Ocllo and the Safe Zone). Drop the fish on the merchant, or double-click the merchant and pick the fish. The merchant pays 25% of the item's value; the daily selling limit is 50,000 gold per account.
Fishing mastery
- Every catch gives 25 experience, shown above your character as +EXP.
- Leveling up takes 4,000 / 8,000 / 16,000 / 32,000 / 48,000 experience (Normal → Ruin … Power → Epic).
- Every catch also advances the Quest Keeper's daily fishing quest.

Fisher Story
The Fisher Story NPC in Ocllo keeps the fishing rankings. Double-click it to open the rankings window:
- Overall ranking: the 8 players who caught the most. Each catch counts as 1 point. Your own rank is shown too.
- Rare fish rankings: the top 3 players for each rare fish.

Tips
- Fish are heavy; fishing stops when your backpack is full. Empty it regularly on long sessions.
- Carry a spare pole; fishing ends when the pole breaks.
- Don't move while fishing; a single step stops it.
